A Butcher shop?
Clay, acrylic paint, spray paint, plastic, thread
This project is part of an investigation of the objectification and commodification of the female body. All sculptural objects are constructed according to anatomical diagrams of the inside of a mouth, tongue follicles, arteries, and tonsils. Disproportionally large, they mimic animal meat, drying and packaged, ready to be sold at a butcher shop, effectively presenting the female mouth as something to be hunted, purchased and consumed.
